Howell (Hal) Pope, 68

Howell (Hal) Pope, 68 passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon, May 29, 2017.  Born February 5, 1949, he was the son of the late Alexander Pope and Bernice (Martin) Pope.

He was a longtime electrician who retired from The Miami Herald. To most who knew him he was a “Jack of all trades”.

Hal is survived by his wife, Charlene; daughters, Denise and Tim Dunn of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Kerri and Ed Clardy of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Dunn White (Colton) of Plainfield In., Jessica Clardy of Southport, Fl.,  Aaron Dunn (Abby) of Sesser, Il. and Kirsten Clardy of Greenville, Fl.; 2 great grandchildren Hadlee and Easton White; 3 siblings, Lois Hayes (Talmadge) of Collins Ga., Cleo Pope (Libby) of Deland, Fl. and Leo Pope of Hanceville, Al.; Father in law Claude Redd Jr. (Chris) of Webster, FL. 2 sisters in law Terry Steele of Nashville Tn., Carol Davenport (Larry) of Epworth Ga, and many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

Memorial services for Howell Pope will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from the Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church on 3449 NE CR 340, HighSprings, Fl, 32643 with Rev. James E. West officiating, followed by interment on location at Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
