Becky Lynn Dunlap

Becky Lynn Dunlap (born Becky Lynn Reeves), daughter of J. R. Reeves and Martha Novella Reeves, died on June 15, 2016.  She was 64 years of age.

 

Becky was born on May 27, 1952 in Paragould, Arkansas.  She resided in Hollywood, Missouri until 1954 when she and her family moved to Bowling Green, Florida.

 

Becky attended Bowling Green Elementary School, Hardee County Junior High School, and Hardee County Senior High School in Wauchula where she graduated in 1970. She then attended the University of Florida and graduated in 1974 with a BA degree in Education.  She was a beloved teacher for 37 years and a teacher of the year at Mebane Middle School. Becky retired from the Alachua County school system in 2012.  She was active in the First Baptist Church of High Springs.

 

She is survived by her husband, Alan Dunlap, her daughter Courtney Puentes and husband Lorenzo, her son Brian Dunlap and wife Kayla, three grandchildren (Gabe, Vincent, and Lennon), her sister Mary Nell Pace, and brothers Jerry Reeves, Donnie Reeves, Michael Reeves and Jimmy Reeves.  Another sister, Martha Jane Reeves, preceded her in death as an infant.

 

A funeral was held on June 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of High Springs, with visitation from 12 PM to 1 PM, and a memorial service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.
