Betty Jayne is survived by her husband of 30 years, Barry Newsome, who was her best friend and soul mate; her daughter Sondra (Lennard) DuBose; her son Raymond Shepard; two brothers:  Rev Philip (Janelle) Lambert and Kenneth (Carol) Lambert and her grandchildren, Casey and Garrett DuBose.

She was preceded in death by her son Michael Shepard.
