Brenda Kay Rader

In Loving Memory of

Brenda Kay Rader

 -

Brenda Kay Rader, 64, of Alachua, FL, passed away August 30, 2021. Brenda was born in Jellico, TN on March 28, 1957 to Thomas Edgar and Lois Henegar.  Brenda was married her high school sweetheart, Marvin.  They were married for 49 years.

Brenda (affectionately called Meme by her 9 grandchildren) enjoyed singing gospel music with her family. She told everyone she met about how much she loved the Lord and how much He loves us. She loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandkids, baking, and drinking coffee.  Meme had the biggest heart! She was always willing to help in any way possible and always tried to sneak in extra treats for her grandbabies! She had a heart for children and spent her time advocating for them, whether it be raising awareness for a cause or teaching a Sunday School class. There was never a dull moment with Meme. She was simply fun to be with.

Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Lois Henegar; her sister, Ann Irwin; and her brother, Ron Henegar.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Rader; her daughters, Stacey (David) Fayard of Cypress, TX; Brenda “Sissy” (Buddy) Crosby of Alachua, FL; Elizabeth (Justin) Coleman of High Springs, FL; and Amanda (Justin) Horn of Alachua, FL; her sisters, Debbie Henegar and Anita Hall; her brothers, Bill (Chub) Henegar and Ken (Glenda) Henegar; her grandchildren, Megan, Brianna, Emily, Dalton, Kaleb, Dexton, Kaden, Kolton, and Aisley; and lots of nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Hague Newnansville Cemetery, Alachua, FL.

Brenda will be missed by all to whom she came to know and love. It was my privilege to have known her and worship with her at Hague. Another beautiful voice silenced by illness , and another beautiful soul claimed by her God. May God in heaven bless all her family in the years to come. To Marvin you’ll miss Brenda so much that sometimes you’ll ask God why. No more suffering for her now. God bless you.
