Charles Avery Roberts, 79, of High Springs passed away on October 14, 2016 in Gainesville, FL.  He grew up in High Springs and was a retired Dean of Students and football coach for Newberry High School.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of High Springs.  He was preceded in death by his wife Georgan Grady Roberts; twin daughters; father, Cecil Roberts; mother, Bertie Roberts and sister, Connie Skinner.

He is survived by his daughters Carrie (Keith) Barnes and Kellie (David) Rendek; grandchildren Avery (Jennifer) Barnes, Mac (Sarah) Rendek and Helen Colee (Randal) Ponder; great-grandchildren Levi Barnes, Jody Rendek, and Bellamy Rendek; sisters, Patty Roberts Forrester and Cheryl C. Phillips and brother, Gene A. Roberts.

Visitation will be held on Monday at 11:00 am followed by service at 12:00 pm with Dr. Derek Lambert officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Florida Baptist Children’s Home c/o First Baptist Church 20112 N. US Hwy 441, High Springs, FL 32643.  Interment will be at High Springs Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, FL 386-454-2444.
