Christine J. Elbert, 73, of Fort White, passed away on February 18th in Fort White, Florida.
The graveside funeral service will be held at the Fort White Cemetery on February 23rd at 10 a.m. with Chaplin Thomas Tyer of Community Hospice officiating. Celebration of life to follow at 4702 SW CR 18 Fort White, Florida.
Christine J. Elbert was born in Lorraine, Ohio to Donald I. and Nellie A. Cousino on January 22nd 1948. She went to high school at Elyria High School and graduated in 1966. She worked as a stocker for Dollar General for 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and making them laugh and smile.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Nellie Cousino; husband, James H Elbert, Sr.; brothers, Donald E. (Kathrine) Cousino and Gaylord J. (Dottie) Cousino; nephews, Buddy, Kevin, and Michael Cousino.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya L. (Bradford Sr) Yates of Fort White, Florida; son, James H. (Gretchen) Elbert, Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren, James (Meagan) Peace, Katee Elbert, Eric Peace, Kelly Elbert, Bradford Yates, Jr., Christopher Yates, Jaylee Elbert; great-grandchildren Easton Peace, Kalynn Smith; nieces, Wendy Cousino and Vickie (Jeff) Zimmerman; great-niece Alex Zimmerman; and several family members in Ohio and Florida.
You are so loved and we will miss you forever!❤️
My condolences to Chris’ family and to all of our extended family. Chris was and still is loved by us all and, so many others. She will be deeply missed. Her sense of humor, her straight forward and endearing personality will always be remembered. She will always be in our hearts. Good bye for now, sis. I love you all and mourn with you.
I never got the chance to thank her in person , for being an Angel to my son when he was in need, and I was an hour away, She did an amazing thing for him. Heaven truly has received a beautiful Angel❤️ . Thank you so much for what you did for him , Rest In Peace . My love and prayers to the family.
Having only met Cupcake a few years ago, I knew immediately she was a character and a force to be reckoned with. I feel blessed having met her and send my love and healing prayers to the family. Rest peacefully Cupcake.
