Doris M. James, 92, of Alachua/High Springs, FL entered Heaven on Monday morning August 29th at her daughter’s home in Dunnellon, FL.

She was born in Orlando, FL January 16, 1924 and was raised in High Springs and returned to this area in 1989.  She was a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church.  She was affectionately known as “DaDa”.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E James, her parents, Albert and Maudie Waddell and a brother, Gene Waddell.  She is survived by two daughters: Murla W. Vaughn of Alachua/High Springs. And Cynthia J. (Richard) Cusack of Dunnellon, FL;  Grandchildren: Cheryl (Mike) Harris, Emory Vaughn, Robert (Kris) Cusack and Rick ( Irene) Cusack.  Great-grandchildren: Katie Cusack, Kylie Cusack, Richard Cusack, August Vaughn.

Services will be held Friday September 2 at 11:00 AM at New Oak Grove Baptist Church with Mike Harris and Terry Ellixson officiating.  Interment will be at High Springs Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, from 2-3 PM at Evans Carter Funeral Home High Springs, FL 386-454-2444.
