In Loving Memory of

Frances Lites Phillips

 -

Frances Lites Phillips went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 15, 2019.  Frances, the daughter of Tommie and Hennie Mae Lites, was born at home on her family’s farm on April 23, 1938.  A 1956 graduate of Fort White High School, Frances lived almost her entire life in the Mikesville Community, moving to Jacksonville for a few years before returning home to live and raise her family on the farm.  She retired from Bellsouth after 35 years of service.  Frances was married to Claude Phillips for 57 years.  She was Mama to Keith and Kim, and she was Memmie to Keith and Kacey.  She was fiercely devoted to her family and to seeing that family and friends gathered regularly to eat, socialize and love on one another.  Frances was a Christian, giving her heart to Jesus in her early 20’s.  Over the last few years of her life, she had returned to her childhood church, Mikesville Presbyterian.

Frances was preceded in death by her son, Keith, in 1969. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Larry Lites. She is survived by her husband, Claude Phillips; her daughter, Kim Carter and her husband, Ed; Her grandchildren, Keith and Kacey Carter; Brothers Robert Lites of Fort White; Gerald Lites of Bodega Bay, CA; and Garry Lites of Fort White; Sisters Imogene Graham of Fort White, and Annette Frantz of Liberty, SC. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, and cousins, all of whom were very special to her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 5pm to 7pm, at Evans-Carter Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Mikesville Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
