Hamp Pittman, 89, of LaCrosse, Florida, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Hamp was born in Waycross, Georgia on August 14, 1931 to Thomas and Delilah Pittman.
Hamp was married to Pauline for 50+ years. He was an insurance salesman for many years and later retired from Toms Snacks. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
Hamp is survived by his sons, Michael (Patricia) Pittman of Tampa, Florida; Darrell (Louise) Pittman of Aurora, Illinois; Thomas (Kathleen) Pittman of Fairview, Tennessee; Joel (Beverly) Pittman of Neoga, Illinois; his daughter, Linda Martin of Gilbert, Arizona; stepchildren, Sandra Delgado, Gail Centaur, and Glenda Moore; and 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Hamp was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Delilah Pittman; his wife, Pauline Pittman; and his grandsons, Darrell Pittman, Jr., Jared Pittman, and Gregory Pittman.
A very special thanks to his doctors, nurses, and Louise Pittman for all they did for Hamp.
A graveside funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Forest Grove Baptist Cemetery, Alachua, Florida, with Pastor Howard Adams officiating.
Hamp you were a great Father-in-law and you will be greatly missed.
So sorry to hear about Uncle Hamps passing. We Had not seen him in several years but always enjoyed our time together. My sincerest condolences, praying for the family. Wish we could have been closer.
