Madeline Senabelle Edwards Thomson, age 95, passed away June 2nd. She was born on January 16, 1922 in Alma Georgia to Fred and Gertrude Edwards. Madeline moved to High Springs with her parents and sister, Winnette, at 6 months old.
Madeline attended school in High Springs. She attended Florida Southern College for 3 years, and later earned her degree from the University of Florida.
Madeline enjoyed a 30 year teaching career and touched many lives. She was a livelong member of the First United Methodist Church in High Springs, and was a choir member and soloist. She belonged to the Morning Glory Circle.Madeline was a member of High Springs New century Woman’s Club for over 70 years and was a lifelong honorary member.
Madeline married Cecil Thomson in 1946 and they had one daughter, Bonnie Madeline is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Winnette, and her husband, Cecil.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Roy) Vann of Jacksonville, granddaughters Lindsay Madeline Vann and Marci Aleen Nolan (Markham) all of Jacksonville. Nieces, Gail Conner of Tallahassee, Diane Luke (John) of Gainesville, Paym Pratt (John) of Andover Minnesota, Becky Bergman (Joe) of Ocala, Yvonne Thompson, of Brooker, and Susie McDuffie of McRay, Georgia. Nephew, Gary Swilley (Dale) of High Springs, and many great and great-great nieces and nephew.
