Mae Dean Moore, 89, of High Springs, Florida, passed away surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 after a brief illness.
She was born in Clifton, North Carolina on August 19, 1933 to Roby H. Roark and Jesse E. Campbell Roark.
Mae Dean was a homemaker. She loved singing, gardening and working in her yard. There wasn’t a plant or flower that she could not grow. She loved to raise all the orphaned animals that we would bring to her. She also enjoyed going to yards sales with family.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roby and Jesse Roark; four brothers, French, Ford, Delmer, and Robert and their wives, Ruth, Betty, Ruth and Joyce Roark; daughter, Ruby Mae Hampton; grandchildren, Elizabeth Voorhis; great-grandson, Caiden Weier; and great-granddaughter, Avery Weier.
Left behind to honor and cherish Mae Dean is her son, Gilbert Moore of Fort White; two daughters, Brenda Hodge of Fort White and Linda Weier and her husband Christopher Weier of Vero Beach; and son-in-law, Jerry Hampton of Bell; grandsons, Mitchell Moore and his wife Jessica, James and his wife Anna Weier, Calvin and his wife Heather Weier, Michael Weier, Gerald “JD” Hampton and Joshua Moore; granddaughters, Shauna Moore, Katherine “Katie” Weier, Melynda “Mindy” Topping, Tawana Senecal, Rebecca “Becky” George; 21 great-grandchildren, Christina Weier, Caysen Weier, Easton Weier, Harlow Weier, Lincoln Weier, Jasymne Moore, Mitchell Moore Jr, Jada Moore, Malachi Moore, Skyler Hampton, Cody Baird, Bianca Hampton, Samuel Topping, Anthony Topping, Rebekah George, Sara George, AJ Voorhis, Anthony Voorhis, Serenity Moore, Leland George, Jason Moore; and 1 great-great-grandson Danny “DJ” George, and lots of nieces and nephews.
Mae Dean’s viewing and service will be held at Evan Carters Funeral Home in High Springs on Saturday, December 17 at 11am.
