Marion Louise Rickett

In Loving Memory of

Marion Louise Rickett

 -

Marion Louise Rickett (formerly Tomlinson), 82, of Alachua, FL, passed away on February 15th of 2020.

She was born in White Springs, FL on October 13, 1937. She left behind the opportunities that school afforded her in order to care for her siblings and home.

Marion was married to Roy Alton Rickett on March 13th of 1959; they were married for 37 years, until his passing on May 16th of 1996.

She was a homemaker by choice, preferring to live a life that revolved around home and family; she did so, happily, for 50 years. She enjoyed spending her free time solving puzzles and word searches, gardening, playing board and card games, and watching game shows. She was also a great supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Marion is survived by brother Johnny Tomlinson (Margie), sister Betty Sikes, son Ramie Rickett (Peggy), daughter Renee Sykes, grandchildren Nicki and Brandon Sykes, Kendra Crews (Dustin), Kelli and Kaylin Thomas, and great-grandchildren Kenlyn and Stetson.

She is preceded in death by parents Rev. Joseph Tomlinson and Emma Thomas-Tomlinson, brothers Floyd Tomlinson and Gene Tomlinson, and sisters Faye Clemons, Phyllis Philman, and Virgie Griffis.

A graveside service will be held to honor Marion’s memory on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2 PM at the High Springs Cemetery.

I have such great memories of your mom and her German chocolate cake! No one will ever make one as good as her! Take comfort in your memories as you grieve. No matter how old we are, it’s never easy to lose a parent. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Renee & Ramie,

So sorry for your loss, I don’t have words to ease the pain. Only that she loved you all so much. And she is now with your dad. I remember that time too well also. Love to you both! Shelba Swilley Campbell
