Mattie Elizabeth Clark, born February 6, 1937 in Jacksonville, Florida, retired from Santa Fe College Bookstore.  Elizabeth, 82, of Alachua, Florida, passed away Thursday, Jan 9, 2020 with her family by her side.  Elizabeth married Dennis Clency Clark, July 18, 1955 in Camden County, Georgia.  She is a graduate of Lake Forest Academy in Lakeland, Florida.  She lived in Jacksonville, Florida and Salsbury, North Carolina prior to settling in Alachua, Florida.  She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of High Springs.  Elizabeth was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind many beautiful memories.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Clark, of 60 years and her parents, Jasper and Lena Feagin.  Surviving siblings are William Feagin, Edward Feagin (Agrie), Jack Feagin (Cherry), and Judy Feagin.  She was blessed with four children, Ronald Clark (Lori), Sharon Casey (Keith), David Clark (Joy), and Robert Clark (Mary).  Her double blessings were 9 grandchildren: Krystal Reeser (Jedidiah), Matthew Clark (Jenah), Jayme Drayton (Justin), Cody Clark (Kaley), Clint Clark (Allison), Cassie, Kadie, Brice, and Zane Clark.  Her three great-grandsons, Beckham Clark, Cayden Clark, and soon to arrive Jacob Drayton were a joy to her life.

Visitation will be held at Evans Carter Funeral Home on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 6-8 pm.  Her funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of High Springs, Florida.  Graveside will follow at St. Johns Church, Alachua, Florida with Dr. Eddie Gandy officiating.

    Mrs. Liz was so special and kind. That being said, our conversations indicate that she continued to mourn and miss the love of her life, Dennis. She’s so happy, I know, to be in the presence of her family. What joy to know we’ll see each other again.
