Maude Freeman Truluck passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Maude was born in Monticello, Florida to George and Maude Freeman on July 30, 1922, and was one of twelve children who all preceded her in death. Maude was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Joel Truluck. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Stormant (Ted), Steve Truluck (Elaine), Kathy Cellon (Johnnie), and Janice Benton (Larry). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lea Lanier, Brett Bohannon, Edward & Cecil Benton, Joel, Jared, and Scott Cellon, Kim Mercer, John Roberts, Steve and Michael Stormant along with twenty-five great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Truluck was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church for 63 years. She held many positions of service through the years. Her special gift was writing poems and stories and sharing them with those she loved. She was a faithful card sender to cheer and inspire others. Maude retired from the Alachua County School System where she served in the cafeteria at High Springs Elementary. She was especially remembered for the delicious cinnamon buns that she made in her capacity as the baker. She was also an avid quilter and seamstress. She was loved by many people as she was always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of advice. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 23, 2021, at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 22575 NW 94th Avenue, Alachua, Florida 32615. A time of visitation will begin at 11:00 am followed by the service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Tony Clubb officiating.
