Mavis Barbara Boyle Cooke 88 of Alachua, Florida, passed away on April 5 2023 surrounded by her children. She was born on January 21, 1935, in Stockport, England.
Mavis became a Naturalized citizen of The United States on July 3rd, 1957, when stationed in the Air Force stateside.
Her love of horses and ponies was always a main stay in her life stateside and abroad. Mavis enjoyed riding, showing and raising horses on the farm in Alachua. For a time, they also had a daylily farm, where they sold and shipped bulbs all over the United States. She was always surround by a small pack of dogs, wherever she went.
Mavis’s sister Ann Boyle Fenefick of Manchester, England and brother, David Boyle of Cheadle Hulme, England preceded her in death.
Mavis married Herbert Leslie Deveraux Cooke in 1953.
Mavis is survived by her sons, Howard Cooke and his wife, Kelly Cooke (Kaylee Cooke and Kolton Cooke) of Warm Springs, Georgia and David Cooke of Jacksonville, Florida; and her daughter, Heather Cooke of Alachua, Florida
