Patricia “Pat or Patsy” Svajgert, 72, of Alachua, Florida, passed away on June 3, 2020.  Pat was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on October 21, 1947 to John and LaVera Smehil.

Pat was married to Matthew Svajgert on February 6, 1971; they were married for 45 years.  She graduated from Manatee Junior College with an Associate of Arts degree in medical transcription.

Pat worked as a transcriptionist for Manatee Memorial Hospital, Gainesville Internal Medicine, North Florida Regional Medical Center, and Rheumatoid Associates.  She enjoyed gardening, painting, working in her yard, and being with her grandchildren.  She was also actively involved in the Angels of Mercy and was a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion at St. Madeleine Catholic Church.

Pat is survived by her mother, LaVera Smehil; sisters Judith Nelson (Charles) and Penny Wren (Donny); brother Dean Smehil (Joan); sister-in-law, Cathy Radanovich; daughters, Rebecca Svajgert (Steve) and Kimberly Miller (Peter); four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Svajgert; father, John Smehil; brother, John E. Smehil; and son, Thomas Svajgert.

The funeral will be held on June 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Madeleine Catholic Church with visitation being held at 9:00 a.m.  Burial will follow the funeral at St. Madeleine Catholic Church Memorial Garden.
