Roy H. Alligood, 87, of Alachua, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018.

Roy was a native and lifelong resident of Alachua, son of the late Archie and Minnie Alligood.  He was a longtime member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church, veteran of the U S Army, spent most of his life on the farm.  His hobbies included gardening and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his late wife Corine Alligood of 60 years.  Survivors include two daughters, Linda Coleman, Alachua and Valerie (Jeff) Means, Alachua; one son Roy (April) Alligood, Jr, Alachua; one brother Bud Alligood, Alachua; two sisters, Peggy Malphurs, Alachua and Mary Floyd, Fort White; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at New Oak Grove Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to services at the church.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.
