Sandra A. Cantrell, 76, passed away in Gainesville, FL on Friday, September 21, 2018.­­  She was born June 20, 1942, in Monroe, Michigan, the daughter of Donald and Norma Soncrant.  She married William L. Cantrell, on January 31, 1960.

She had the good fortune of spending the first part of her career as the personal assistant of the gracious Statistician, Dr. Whitney (of the Mann-Whitney Test) at The Ohio State University.  She went on to study for a master’s degree in Health Care Administration at the University of Central Florida.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring Nana & Great Grandmother, beloved sister, and caring friend.  Her family and friends will miss her greatly.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, photography, and most of all spending time with her family.  Her greatest pride and joy was supporting her children and grandchildren’s lives’ work and accomplishments.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Norma Soncrant, and her husband, William L. Cantrell.

She is survived by her three sons, Dr. Eric W. Cantrell of Orlando, FL, Dr. Randall A. Cantrell of High Springs, FL, and Col. Sean J. Cantrell, US Air Force and their families. Grandchildren: Joshua E. Cantrell, Vance W. Cantrell, Bond E.L. Cantrell, Audra S. Cantrell, Abby F. Cantrell; and her great granddaughter, Millie L. Cantrell. Siblings: Robert Soncrant of Monroe, MI, Cheryl Pouliot of Winter Park, FL, and James Soncrant of Moorehead, MN.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Evans Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, FL.  Visitation will be held 30 minutes before the service.  She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, the Sandra A.
