Warren Richard Godsmark Jr

Warren Richard Godsmark Jr., 86, left his earthly body to be united with his Savior in eternity on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father and the world’s greatest grandpa.  He was a faithful follower of Christ and gave of his time to further the message of his Father’s unending love and grace.  He was a deacon at several churches throughout his life and his pastoral legacy includes time as a pastor at both Ft. White and Philippi Baptist Church.  He was also a dedicated member of the choirs at First Baptist Church of High Springs.  Mr. Godsmark retired from BellSouth after nearly 30 years of service and was a Korean War veteran in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean Hodges Godsmark; his son Wayne Godsmark Sr. (JoAnn), his daughter Sharon Godsmark (Arlon Bardwell) and his brother Robert Godsmark.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Wayne Godsmark Jr., Michael (Morgan) Henderson, Michelle Jiminez, Paul (Leslie) McDaniel, Brandon McDaniel, and Carrie Hutchinson. He was the proud great-grandfather of 7 beautiful great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Evans Carter Funeral Home in High Springs.  The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of High Springs.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in his honor to First Baptist Church of High Springs.
