William “Stanley” Liscombe, 75, of Gainesville, passed away on November 2, 2020 in Gainesville, FL.

Visitation will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Ave Gainesville, FL on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

Funeral service will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Ave, Gainesville, FL on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 am with Reverend Father Lawrence Peck of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Gainesville, FL officiating. Burial/Interment will follow at St. Madeleine Catholic Memorial Gardens, 17155 NW US Hwy441, High Springs, FL.

Stan was born in Gainesville, FL to Rose and Loyal Liscombe on July 6, 1945. He went to Gainesville High School and graduated class of ‘63. He went on to earn several certifications in various machine repair and installation including electrical, plumbing, and gas installation and repair.

He worked for many companies over the years, including Texgas, Suburban, Griffis, Teco, Heritage Propane, and Gainesville Gas and Grill before he retired in 2010.

He was involved in numerous church activities at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Elk Lodge 990, FOE Eagles 4518, & 4385, and GARS – Gainesville Amateur Radio. He enjoyed cooking, tinkering with machinery, but most of all learning new things.

Stan is preceded in death by his parents Rose Goodbred and Loyal George Liscombe, grandfather, L. N. Bay and grandmother, Mary Ella Bay.

Stan is survived by his wife, Najwa Liscombe of Gainesville, FL, two sisters, Nancy Garland (Eric) of St. Augustine, FL, Carol Goodbred (Victor) and brother Philip Goodbred of Reddick, FL; daughter, Heather Liscombe (Shannon Touchton), and four grandchildren, Madeline George, and Aeson, Amiyah, and Iveigh Touchton of Palm Coast, FL; and cousin, Susan Liscombe Kneeland of Cocoa Beach, FL; nieces and nephews –Daniel Garland of Gainesville, FL; Sarah Goodbred (Travis Hollis) & Aiden McCullough of Seminole, FL; Tyler Goodbred (Marzena Pineda) of St. Petersburg, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32609.
